The water quality results summarized below are from the sampling events and locations requested by the NJDEP. Three samples were collected at residential locations and an iron sample was collected from the treatment facility point of entry to the distribution system. The tables below show the general locations, analytical results and a glossary of terms. The results are within NJDEP and EPA requirements.
Flushing Program: August 12-24
We recently completed a flushing program to remedy discolored water residents were experiencing. Hydrants throughout the city were flushed over 2 weeks, from August 12 to August 24 from 8 pm to 12 am. That situation is now much improved, but we acknowledge there are still some residual areas where discolored water complaints have continued. We are working on action plans to continue to improve the entire distribution system. This flushing program was in addition to the flushing that routinely takes place in early fall and early spring. With that in mind, the next program will take place in October.
